The town of Chinchero is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and was built on ancient Inca foundations that might have belonged to the Royal Palace of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. From Inca times till our days, it has been considered one of the most important farming centers of Cuzco and it is without doubts a privileged place because of the beauty of its landscape highlighted by amazing snowcapped mountains that surround the town. We will then visit the group of circular terraces of Moray located in the Sacred Valley, which was the botanic laboratory of the Incas, becoming one of their main agricultural tools. We will continue heading to the viewpoint of Maras salt mines and its impressive mirrors of color that reflect the light of the sun in its uncountable puddles of salt. At the end, we will visit the final town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and considered the oldest continuously occupied town in America. We will walk around its narrow streets admiring its houses made of adobe and built over the original Inca foundations. We will also visit the impressive archaeological site and fortress which contains some superb.

Inca stonework and terracing. This fortress was the site of the battle in 1537 between Inca troops led by Manco Inca and invading Spanish forces commanded by Hernando Pizarro.
